A random post for today. i chance upon this ornament while i was at raffles city today. i thought it was very cute and retro to have such stuff in your house. what style is this? country style? haha! if i continue this habit of putting random cute ornaments in my house next time, i think i won;t even have a style. it's just rojak. and no taste. haha!

Taiwan
somebody gave me this from taiwan, and it brought back memories of my Taipei trip last November. I don't really like muah chee but I loveeeee Taiwanese street food! taipei is awesome! you can find yummy food at almost every corner!
I really like Taiwan and it is one of the places I would consider relocating too. hmm been thinking alot about relocation recently. I just wanna get out and run away, perhaps to also start anew.

Cornetto Enigma (59/365)
WALLS launches new cornetto enigma range.
Cornetto has launched the new Enigma range of ice creams in cones.
Each Cornetto Enigma combines soft vanilla ice cream with a core of sauce and toppings that run all the through to the chocolate flavour tip. Seriously, they say it was launched in 2010. but i only saw it recently in shops. hmm, maybe is my lack of sweet tooth that made me not notice this new range of product by WALLS. to think i started out as their cornetto fan! when cornetto was only $1.10. but maybe is was not launced in singapore in 2010. maybe singapore only brought it in later.
The Cornetto Enigma range comes in two combinations:
- Vanilla witha chocolate and almond sauce centre
- Vanilla with a raspberry and dark chocolate sauce centre
in my humble opinion, i don't like it, not nice. oh well, i dun have sweet tooth!

seng kee love.
no prizes for guessing who my dinner partner was today :)
so yes we headed to our all-time fave mian xian place! twice in a span of just 3 days, you can tell how much I like this place. haha. will never forget the very first time I was brought here :) that night was also the first time i drove out on my own after getting my license. well this place has become one of the few places i drive to most often with my limited driving experience. haha. the many suppers i've spent here, once even chilling till the shop closed. this place is kinda special to me.
anyway it's a really popular place and not that easy to find parking space. you'll have to parallel park along the little lanes at jalan masjid or mydin. it's definitely a good supper place as it opens till 4am! so do head down to give the bowl of mian xian a try! i'm sure you'll be back for more!!

my fav kembangan meesua (58/365)
ever since years ago when btf introduced me to this heavenly meesua in kembangan, i fell in love with it! i'm always a meesua fan but this is different meesua. or rather, the broth is different. and i'm usually not a pork person but their 瘦肉 is lean and to my liking. together with the chilli padi, it is LOVELY!!!! the shop is located opposite kembangan station and is called Seng Kee Black Herbal Chicken Soup. They sell zi-char there as well.
way in 2008, i think one bowl of this lovely meesua cost only $3.50, but now due to inflation, it is $4.50 already. if ever in the next ten years one bowl cost $8 to $10, think we will still be eating it? haha!

who needs a reason for sale! (57/365)
this sign caught my eye for two reasons. first, it's $9 onwards!! single digit! and then the smaller prints, festive special buy. i was thinking to myself, festive?? what festive season are we at now?
then it hit me! we don't need a reason to have sales!!! stores, shops and shopping centres do not need a reason to have a sale, they can come up with all reasons to have a sale. and consumers like you and me, even more don't need a reason to want a sale!! so it works both ways for the stores and for us! Whee! so cheers to more closing down sales, mid year sales, year end sales, cny sales, hari raya sale, labour day sale and now festive sale!! whatever the festive may be!

auto driver
after almost 5 years of being a driver, im finally able to drive an auto car! yes I know, you must be thinking auto cars are so easy, how can one not know how to drive them! but yah, I've only been driving manual ever since.
still need alittle getting used to, but gosh the joys of power steering and not having to worry at slopes!! I love cute small cars and green is my favourite colour. well its actually a weird shade of green, abit yellowish i think. but still, this car is just so me!=)
ok I'm not that rich to own this. my aunt has very generously allow me to use this over the weekends if I want to :) I'm so blessed!

McHappy! (56/365)
well, this is not a photo i chance upon today but it is a photo sent to me today. and how could i not post it! My favourite McSpicy ala carte is $2.90!!! i can eat it everyday if it doesn't make me fat!
i always dun like mcdonalds as a meal, because i dun like their fries and i stopped myself from drinking cold drinks. so really, i just like the burger. but the burger itself is always not worth it if u buy as ala carte as compared to a set meal. so now this $2.90 mcspicy is making my day!!!!
any of you guys need the picture in your phone?? i m happy to send! =)

a lady's weakness
shoes are definitely one of a lady's greatest weakness. no female will complain about owning too many pairs of shoes. one can never have enough.
when I first set my eyes on this pair of heels at Zara, I was totally mesmerized by it. this totally screams ME!! but fortunately the rational and practical side of me took charge. it's nice but it'll be difficult to match and it's expensive!! so nah, didn't get them :(

Perfect Match (55/365)
i just wanted to post this picture to emphasis what a perfect match red and green is. even our two oldest mrt lines, the east-west line and the north-south line is green and red respectively. back in 1987 when mrt first came out, red and green were already a perfect match.
Do you know?
When you blend red light and green light of equal luminance, they cancel out.
let's see what others red and green combinations are there... christmas! apples!!! this makes red and green exact opposites too. that's why they are used as combination. can u think of other examples of red and green?

fellowship
i thank God for the people He places in my life. and today, I'm inspired to just be myself cos you never know who will bless you or who you'll be blessing with your own unique personality.
i had a good dinner. totally stuffed. but it was the gentle reminders from God through conversations that filled me. once again, I'm reminded of the importance of fellowship in my spiritual walk.

HSBC Women's Championship 2012 (54/365)
the once in a year event is here! from 23-26 feb. as hsbc affiliated staff, i have been to this event three years consecutive already. i tried abit on the golf putting challenge and also the simulator there, and i realised i have very bad coordination. the instructor was nice enough to encourage me but i felt i made a fool of myself. =/
Anyway, the event is held in Tanah Merah country club, just in case you were wondering where it is.

Bagpack (53/365)
i realised if we walk around in the day, other than staying in office and going home, we can find alot of red things i can take picture of. but according to my partner, finding picture is easy, it is writing a story or talking about it that makes it difficult. like will the readers want a personal sharing? or a informative one?
anyway... let me get to bagpacks. in the past where i was still schooling, probably in poly days, i think bagpacks are cool to carry as a student. it is like the trademark of student. and u cannot go wrong with a bagpack if u intend to look like a student. but as i come out and work, i realised bagpacks does not go with alot of clothes i wear anymore. like formal wear to work, it is really inappropriate to match it with a bagpack. or even weekends, clothes i wear do not suit carrying a bagpack aymore.
i wonder, is it the age? or it is just me?

mr bean
I would choose mr bean over jollibean! since I had to start using my mr bean vouchers, gave myself a post-lunch treat. instead of the usual plain soya bean drink I always buy, I got myself the soy chocolate today! I love anything chocolaty but I don't think I'll get this again.
anyway another reason to love mr bean - green seems to be their corporate colour! green straws, green spoons and most of their store designs are green. they have a cute mascot too! though it isn't green. haha.

simplicity
I'm actually a super no-frills girl. well partly cos i can be quite lazy. so I don't have elaborate beauty regimes. and coincidentally I like using the range of products from Simple.
I first started with only Simple facial wash. and I really like it! it's very mild and not drying, unlike other products I've used. then I tried their moisturizer and the latest addition is the toner. I think Simple actually increased their range of products over the years. might check out the stores and try the other products.
another plus point is that Simple is very affordable! suits my skin and value for money, Simple is indeed ideal for me! =)

Have a break, have a kit kat (52/365)
i must applaud the marketing of this. you know how supermarkets, pharmacy and watsons always like to place candies and chocolates near the counter where u are waiting to pay. i know this is one marketing strategy. i'm not one person who likes to eat sweet stuff and much less buy a snack over the counter. but when i saw this, i thought, eh, interesting, like a cigarette box. and when the lady behind the counter asked if i want, saying something like easy to eat and it's only 2 bucks, i just bought it!
haha... 2 bucks for 6 single strips, not exactly dirt cheap. but i like the packaging. well done kit kat! haha

Potong Ice-cream (51/365)
Potong ice-cream always brings back fond childhood memories. do you know that such ice cream were sold by old men riding their bicycle, carrying a mini fridge. these were sold by them even before they started coming out with chocolate, strawberry flavours, those block icre cream which you can eat with biscuit or bread.
my favourite flavour is red bean! there are others like sweet corn, chendol ( i eat these for the green colour jelly only), durian and yam. I can only think of these at the moment. Nowadays, we can even make our own ice cream. Just google red bean ice cream recipe and u will see a whole long list. but i still like to eat the traditional potong ice cream. =)

exploring Sunday
it's a relaxing Sunday and randomly found a hidden gem to chill at. I like exploring and finding new places. actually there can be quite a number of things to do in Singapore, other than squeezing with the crowds at the malls on weekends.
this picture was randomly taken at some street corner. has element of both red and green haha. but well, makes a good contrast of colours.

hawker fare
I'm super low maintenance! I don't need to dine at fancy places, I don't quite appreciate the likes of abalone and shark fins. simple hawker fare is enough to make me happy. as long as the food is nice. =p
I only eat the you tiao in rojak. so most of the time, I'll just order a pure you tiao rojak. not very rojakish since from the name, it should be a mixture of different ingredients. my friend and I usually eat this as a snack. for only $2! cheap and good :)

weighing machine of my life (49/365)
i saw this pretty weighing scale when i was shopping at the kitchen department in the shopping centre. i'm getting more interested in this particular department nowadays when i shop. maybe it has got to do with me preparing myself for the new place to come in 3 years time.
if i keep looking at red kitchen untensils or equipements, i m pretty sure my house will be filled with red items from kitchen to the bathroom. but you can't deny, red is really pretty!

smiley (:
a green smiley to cheer up an otherwise longggg mentally draining week! Glad the weekend is here!
despite the tough days, I am still able to find things to be thankful for and a reason to smile. :)
anyway go google quotes on smile, I actually like quite alot of them!
'A smile is a facelift that's in everyone's price range!' how true. haha

Body Shop Body Butter (48/365)
Like every girl who sleeps in an air conditioned room, moisturiser is a must put before going to sleep. And as the person who started Project 365, my nightly moisturiser is of course related to red!
Fell in love with the strawberry body butter from body shop ever since i fell in love with red. the body butter from the body shop smells good and importantly does not leave a sticky texture after applying on. it makes me smile to sleep when i smell the strawberry body butter. only sometimes when i m too tired, i will forget this routine or rather, i am too lazy to put moisturiser and just fall to sleep.

Fry Bistro
despite the many reports not generated yet and halfway through an analysis, I found myself headed out for a much needed drink.
randomly found this mini rooftop bar. read about this new establishment opened by irene ang recently, happened to find it by chance while looking for a place to chill around Ann Siang. small but cosy place. I wish for an open deck like this for my future house next time. it'll be so cool!
had the lychee mojito and it was pretty decent. they serve food as well like Aunty Ang's wings which is supposedly quite good but i didn't try any food. will prob head back there to chill again. :)

valentine's
happy valentine's day! how was your day?
I had no fancy dinner, no big bouquet of flowers, no box of overpriced choc, no gifts. but i still enjoyed my evening despite not sleeping the night before.
as cliche as it is, everyday can be valentine's and you don't need a special day just to show your love. but yes, I'm not gonna be like the cynics to deem this day all a marketing ploy. I'm still someone who likes special occasions and definitely want to celebrate these special days with people who mean much to me.
anyway hope you had a meaningful vday!

my current favourite cafe!
I'm on a cafe hopping spree. I've been spending my weekends finding quaint little cafes to chill. there's so many new ones springing up! and my favourite one at the moment is Drips Bakery & Cafe at tiong bahru. actually there are more of such places coming out in the tiong bahru area, there's the likes of forty hands, orange thimble, open door policy etc. hopefully I'll get a chance to visit and review them over the weeks :)
for now, let me tell u why I love drips. I love the spaciousness of the cafe. unlike the many other cafes I've been to which are usually small and dim, drips has much natural light and you have sufficient space of your own. I love their sandwiches too! their cranberry bread is yummy :) their scrambled eggs in the all day breakfast set was good too! and of course, not forgetting their desserts! their tarts all look so pretty and tempting! we had the cinnamon egg tart and it got us craving for more!!
a good place to chill with friends. I'm definitely going back there again soon!

saw a couple of nice bikes. was a little tempted to buy a bike and pick up cycling =p love the green rim (erm is that the correct part? haha) and chain of this bike!

I hate goodbyes
goodbyes are hard. in recent months, I've had to face with endings more often than I would like to. it usually happens too sudden for me to prepare. perhaps as one grows older, it's inevitable to face such sudden goodbyes, and especially so in this fast changing times, where people come in and out of our lives.
today, I had 2 farewells. a colleague whom I've come to know better recently and a family whom I've grown closer to over the past year. it's sad, I hate people leaving me. but I know I'm happy for them and I wish them all the best.
learnt to hold on to things loosely. open up that grip. nothing is for certain. God always has a better plan for us. as much as I still hate goodbyes, I take comfort that these goodbyes may be a start to better things ahead :)

amazing love.
with vday round the corner, lets talk above love. and I'm so happy to have the greatest love of all - His amazing love for me :)
today i was reminded how blessed I am to be loved by Him. it's a crazy week at work. but I'm still coping pretty well and not that stressed. it struck me how God has really blessed me in this job and I know for sure I can't be doing so well by my own capability alone.
it's comforting to know He will always be with me, never forsaking me. people change, feelings fade, only one thing is for certainty. God's love is the only unchanging one :)

Preparing for Valentines Day (39/365)
As Valentines Day is coming, another day where i can flaunt redness all over, i decided to start a vday series.
Let's start with a bit about the history of valentines day. Some experts state that it originated from St. Valentine, a Roman who was martyred for refusing to give up Christianity. He died on February 14, 269 A.D., the same day that had been devoted to love lotteries. Legend also says that St. Valentine left a farewell note for the jailer's daughter, who had become his friend, and signed it "From Your Valentine". Other aspects of the story say that Saint Valentine served as a priest at the temple during the reign of Emperor Claudius. Claudius then had Valentine jailed for defying him. In 496 A.D. Pope Gelasius set aside February 14 to honour St. Valentine.
I didn't buy this cushion on purpose, in case you were wondering but it was a free gift giving by the mall if u spend up to a certain amount. =) it serves as a good start to my vday series.

NTU Career Fair 2012 (38/365)
I went to NTU Career Fair 2012 as one of the vendors. It was my first time in such an event and it was an eye opener. This event features more than 200 different employers from many sectors. You can see students from year 1 to year 4, either looking for internship opportunities or looking for graduate programmes to enroll themselves in. Some are really enthu, giving us resume on the spot. =)
Pst, I know this picture is not majority red. But the NTU sign is! if only u can see it at the top right hand corner. haha!

Coldstone Creamery (37/365)
Another red brand found locally. I got this rabbit one year ago when I was in Taiwan, and they were giving this red rabbit away to those who eat ice cream from Coldstone Creamery and also those who were born in the year of rabbit. It has been a year! i'm not a huge fan for ice cream but coldstone is good and creative in terms of their creations. Do pop by to their store in somerset, especially when the weather is as hot as today!

went for a cny concert this evening. special guests include David Tao and Li Nanxing. just wanna give thanks for a really good time with my family. God answers prayers :)
felt really happy seeing my family enjoying themselves at the concert and how my dad was touched by the message. everything just went very well this evening. and I am more than certain He is behind all these. my God is indeed real! =)

Bag-aholic! (36/365)
i'm buying bags like crazy recently.. okok, maybe not crazy but 3 bags in 2 days? anyway, i did not buy this pretty red bag. it is too red for my liking!! but i thought it is pretty just by the colour itself. this is a Mango bag, just in case you were wondering.
