and I'm back.

:( well, all good things must come to an end. it was a really good break. sad to be back in Singapore but good that the trip has ended or we'll be spending even more!

always feels good when I return to changi airport after being away. just that fleeting moment of heartwarming feeling to be home.

and as always after every return, can't wait for the next trip out!

Huge strawberries (162/365)

Or what I call, mutated strawberries! How could strawberries ever grow until so big!! It looks mutated to me, genetically modified. maybe this picture doesn't seem so big but trust me, if you make your way pass any cold storage, go take a look. they are huge!

i never used to like strawberries until i fell in love with the colour red. that period of time, i even started using strawberry shower foam and also strawberry moisturiser. as the time passes by, i fell in love with strawberries altogether. even though sometimes they can be sour, but it is nice eating strawberries, not knowing if you will get sweet or sour the next. 

way over budget

yes, we have way exceeded our budget, it's crazy! i didn't quite expect myself to spend so much! but who am i kidding. we just couldn't stop!! totally lost self control. thoughts of skipping meals just so we have spare money to buy another top even went through our minds. thats a whole new level of shopaholism! to even want to skip meals in the land of cheap and good food! terrible us. haha! 

Beaufort hotel (161/365)

Went to beaufort resort today to check out its ballroom and surroundings. Very nice, with a out of Singapore feel as it is surrounded with lots of greenery. Even the lobby feels so resort-ish. It is like we were in Bali again. Everything is serene, laid back with a occasional show up of a peacock, which gave me quite a bit of scare. Haha!

Red xiao long bao (160/365)

This is one of the colourfu xiao long baos we had. i am sure this colourful combination is not unfamiliar to many. and i love the fact that you can mix and match the ones you wanna eat. cos i never like the yellow one, which is CHEESE!  so anyway, this red one is spicy beef. this rendition of the colourful xiao long baos come from crystal jade. i love! nicer than paradise inn ones. i had a lovely meal!

payphone

with almost everyone owning a handphone, I wonder if anyone still uses the pay phone. but somehow pay phones are still around. this is a rather striking bright green phone! i sure noticed it at the little corner of the best shopping mall in this city!! so vintage-looking!

citin hotel

this hotel really suits me! because the theme is in green!! from the lobby, reception counter, lift doors to the room number, I'm surrounded with green everyday here!

this hotel is really great! good location, clean and comfortable room, attentive service and very affordable prices! I would definitely consider this the next time I'm here and will introduce to my friends!

Shop and save (159/365)

Chance upon this when i was q-ing up at shop and save. i'm not exactly sure what this is, maybe it is a shopping bag. maybe it is a first aid kit? whatever it is, fits into my red picture of the day. anyone sees this at shop and save, do let me know what it is, k?

Time and tide waits for no man (158/365)

Feeling a little old on this day, and that is probably i visited a place that sells alot of clocks. really, as my title says, the one thing that goes up and never come down is our age. and whether we like it or not, we will keep growing older. not necessarily wiser or more achieved over the years, and yet all the signs around us tells us we are growing older.

for instance, when the stars we grow up with gets married and have kids. they used to act girly roles and now they are like auntie roles on tv. another sign is when our metabolism rate drops and we cannot eat as much as we want without growing fatter. and lastyl, when your parents are starting to push responsibilities and bills to you. haha...

Fearless

this used to be and still is my favourite book series! I love how cool gaia is with her fighting adventures. and I always wondered how would it be like without the fear gene. I'm not a book person but this book series can really keep be captivated and wanting to read more. wonder if there are new additions to the series..

Skittles (157/365)

Do you ever like to choose colours when you eat skittles? I do! And one of my favorite skittles colour is red!

I love fruity candies. When I was younger, I like to suck on the skittles till it made my tongue change colour. So seeing that the secretary has a otter of skittles at her desk totally made my day. I do like to choose my M&M's colour too but that is a story for another day.

Good old trusty Nokia

before I jumped on the iPhone bandwagon a year ago, I was a true and through Nokia user. from my very first phone, it had always been Nokia. the brand rarely failed me or at least I was never unhappy with my phones. they are so user friendly! especially important for a tech idiot like me.

but I'm alittle ashamed to say, now that I've moved on to the dark side, there's no turning back for me. the next phone I'll get will probably be another iPhone. I cannot imagine life without whatsapp, google map, Facebook mobile and a variety of games to entertain me on the go anymore!

ps: this post is just in time to mark the almost one year anniversary of my iPhone :)

Wedding centrepiece (156/365)

I have been looking at so many different hotels ad so many themes and so many different centerpiece for each theme. Everything is starting to look similar. How do people ever choose such stuff, I wonder. What stands out to brides?

I think being a wedding planner is really cool. You don't have to decide anything. You present solutions to your clients and they decide for themselves. And you also get to see all different kinds of themes because you are the planner for different weddings. Unfortunately, I think professional wedding planner is not a very popular job in Singapore because most Orel would have their own coordinator and people would rather stick to them than pay extra for a wedding planner. And bridal shop have their own wedding planners as well sometimes. So there doesn't seem to have a need to have a independent external wedding planner.

Beer with breakfast (155/365)

Someone explained the meaning of breakfast today. Breakfast is the first meal of the day. So even d your first meal of the day is at 5pm, it is still breakfast with beer.

There are no particular timing as to when you drink beer. It could be in the morning, middle of the day and at night. If I wanna drink wine whole day round, there ate no restrictions to that too.

Just watch it though, lest you become alcoholic.

the best friend and I finally got to satisfy our 20pcs craving!! but probably not eating spicy nuggets in a long while.... 10 pieces each is alittle overbearing! ok, I admit i didn't finish my portion of 10.

the amount of junk I've been consuming these days is quite worrying. i need to stop!! gonna try to stick to healthier options for the next couple of days!!

my fav shopping place in sg

bugis has gotta be my favourite shopping place in singapore. today is one of the saturdays where i get all my me-time with no appointments to meet. after running all my necessary errands, unknowingly i found myself in bugis. alright, not exactly unknowingly. i wanted to head to the library to borrow some travel guides and then head home straight. but somehow, i ended up shopping at parco bugis and before I know it, it was almost closing time!

i finally manage to spend my cold storage voucher! i love grocery shopping!! can really spend hours doing it!

GSS 2012 (154/365)

Don't you just love the great Singapore sales? It is that time of the year again! I took a trip down to orchard road and was greeted with alot of signs. Sales here, discounts there!! This is truly a great time to buy gifts, even if they are for people whose birthdays are in August, September, and October. it is the time of the year to stock up whatever your household needs, like maybe your bed is getting creaky. or maybe you wanna buy a new luggage for travel? even that proposal ring! get it during sales!

TCC 1for1!

the TCC GSS 1for1 promo is back!! happy is me! :) and it's gonna be around for the entire GSS period! am so gonna eat it every week! my aim is to try all the main courses and pasta over the course of the promotion!

so I had my first tcc 1for1 today at Pomo and they gave us complimentary polo mints! here's to more tcc meals till the month of July!!

Maggie noodles (153/365)

Focus on the colour of the brand.

Anyway, maggie is a very old brand of instant noodles. we even call instant noodles maggie noodles and it's because maggie has done such a great job of penetrating in our lives. now maggie is becoming healthier, creating a healthy image. now low fat and noodles made with WHOLE GRAIN somemore.

whatever it is.. maggie is not goood for health. like myself, i prefer cooking some other stuff, instead of instant noodles. i just have a soft spot for one kind of instant noodles-- the korean spicy mushroom one!
