Earthhour: Vote Earth!

I'm sure by now most of you would have heard about Earth Hour with its aggressive advertising in the various media like radio and the bus shelters. So yah, i'm here to encourage you all to take part in Earth Hour!

Earth Hour is an annual international event by World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). This year, it will held on 28 March 2009 at 8.30pm local time. It aims to reach out to one billion people in 1000 cities in the world. During this allocated one hour, people take part by switching off their lights. The concept is really cool where it works like a global election.

Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community.

Personally, i've always been very passionate about environmental causes and saving Mother Earth! ok, that sounds very cliche. but really. Like how i always advocate my friends to take the public transport instead of driving, taking part in our neighbourhood recycling collection etc. Thats why when i knew about Earth Hour, i was really excited about it! though its just for that one hour, i'm sure it is a baby step to create awareness of the importance of conservation to save our earth.

I've signed up for Earth Hour. Please go take part too!!
