oh let me boast abit, I was actually awarded this singa most courteous award in lower secondary before! I still have the medal! honestly, I have no idea how I won it! but yah, little achievements in life. =p

I remember days when I was younger, my grandma would like to take the newspaper and flip to this section. And start asking me to cut out coupons for her. I am sure this scene is familiar to all. And you find such discount and deals at ntuc. Really a auntie's galore. You don't find professional housewives shopping at cold storage or market place. I think it is not cost effective for them. Fair price is still the best, but for myself who likes more special stuff, I prefer cold storage or market place. Can get more ideas on what to cook each time I am there. When it comes to cooking, I am more adventurous.

Babies are God's gifts

my manager has given birth to a baby boy!! so exciting! visited her at the hospital today and she looks well and radiant despite the eventful week she had last week. pray that the baby will be fine and can go home with her soon!

Multi purpose bag (151/365)

I am pretty sure not many can tell what is this bag. Or what is so special about this bag. This came in the office mail today. Apparently, today then I realized alot of my colleagues have been ordering things and shopping online, delivered to office.

Anyway, this is a baby bag. Mothers should know this very well. The need of a multi functional bag that one carry out when you have a baby. Cos when you have a baby, there are diapers, milk powder and alot other things that you have to bring each one you go out. Haha, motherhood is really not easy.

Healthy fast food- Mos Burger (150/365)

If I am craving for fast food, this will be the first choice in my mind. mos burget is always the healthy choice for me. their portion is just nice for me and i feel their fries is not salty and not that oily. i am currently hooked to their mussels. never tried it before until that day when my client offered me and it is nice!!! i don't know how many people remembered but they used to have mini apple pie and it was darn nice!! but now it is just one piece of apple pie. not as nice. different texture. dunno why they changed. boo!

my sister's guitar pick

I tried learning how to play the guitar from my sister but failed. I was too impatient. and my stupid fingers just can't seem to get it right! don't know how my sister manage to master it on her own!! Lately, I'm all about improving myself and equipping myself with new skills. so after jap, I'm intending to take up ukelele classes!:)

I miss school!

this notebook came in the goodie bag of one of the many camps i attended in smu. I miss attending orientation camps and enjoying life as a student! time flies, I've graduated for 2 years already! and my batch of guys have already graduated this year. we are getting old!

Yes, it is going to be my last half marathon. After a night like last night, i know i don't wanna repeat it anymore. thus, i made this picture look abit tribute-ish.

it was a good race, there was the initial dash, there was the hydration station that i always look forward to. my 100 plus! and then there was a path that i have never taken before, all the way to marina barrage, and in some garden place which the boy and i agreed that it will be nice to visit again one of these days. and then there was the rain. and the mud, and the water splashing. and also wet bodies push together etc.

i remember when i was younger, swatch is like THE brand for watch and even though i think i am as young as 6 or 7, i know i wanted a swatch watch- the flik flak! anyone remembers about it?? they are still available now, just not that a big thing as compared to history.

after swatch, came Baby-G. when i was in my secondary, i wanted a baby-g so much!! haha.. i always have phases in my life, and so does my watch preference. somehow i grew out of watches nowadays. i just need one that is versatile and i can wear on most occassions. maybe a cartier or a omega. one that is classy and will last for ages.

my blog partner recently blog about her red sports bra. coming from an all-girls school, we had the same hype over colored sports bra! and at least for my school, our blouse is dark blue so we didn't had the restriction of only wearing certain coloured ones. and we get to flaunt these colourful sports bra in our house tees! =p

alright, gonna put on the sports bra and do some exercise to work away the BBQ food tonight!

Being an Isetan member, my mum got this is the mail. It's the sales period!!! It is amazing how handy this little voucher can be when you wanna go on a shopping spree.

Both my mum and I are members of many different brands and departmental stores, so when a period like this comes, we will be receiving alot alot of emails and brochures to lure us to shop!!

time waits for no man

things move so fast in Singapore. landscape changes, business changes, people changes. as they say, change is the only constant.

when I started on university, this shop was initially a hair salon I think. then 3 years ago, it became a Aston-imitation shop called Republic of Steak. I remember I quite like it and made my friends accompany me to eat there, and esp when i first started out at the advertising firm. when I passed it today, the shop has changed to 'Steak Out'. not sure if the management is the same but it sure changes pretty fast.. wonder if the business is sustainable. hmm.

kids.

i've never been to a childcare centre before when I was a kid. but my sister used to go to one and I sat in during a couple of days. thought its actually pretty fun! I think I would have liked to attend a childcare when i was a kid.

my sister used to part time as a teacher at a childcare centre and she really enjoyed it. for me, I can never imagine myself being a childcare teacher! well, I don't particularly adore kids. I think I'll probably get high blood pressure and be super grouchy if I were to be a childcare teacher!

Chinatown

I secretly enjoy shopping in Chinatown. I like to stock up toiletries and sanpro there as its probably the cheapest in town. I've compared those products that I normally buy, even though the beauty care stores like beauty spring etc already sells them relatively cheaper, swanston still manages to have one of the best prices around!

don't judge me, I actually spent an hour shopping in CK dept! I'm so fascinated by the range of products available in that store! my occupational habit acting up again!

and I blew 50bucks buying all sorts of nonsense! but feels quite shiok that I got so much stuff for only that price =p oh no, I sound like a true blue auntie. don't judge!

maybe when someone wanna commit suicide? you stop it? then again, when the person jumps, it is usually too late for anyone to stop the train already.

ah! maybe it's for stopping the train when someone accidentally fall in and the train is a distance away. now, that makes more sense. and how often do we get to see it?

clean air

this is a little air freshener that I saw in my friend's car. quite cute. I quite like the design.

actually what's the function of an air freshener? ok i know sounds like a dumb question. but I'm wondering if air freshener purifies the air in our surrounding by removing dust etc or do they just add a little scent to make the place smell nicer? so what is the exact function of it?

Myth or fact? (142/365)

My mum always fills up a cup of water and place it beside my bed before she goes to sleep. She says cos we sleep on aircon room, by doing so, it prevents the aircon from sucking away out moisture. Now, is that a myth or it really works?

I am not too sure myself because I put moisturizer before I sleep to prevent my skin from drying. But since she still insist on the water beside my bed, it could possible give me double protection. Why not?

Sheraton wedding luncheon

today is day 2 of angel's wedding and we had a wedding luncheon at sheraton ballroom 1 and 2. it's my first time attending a wedding lunch instead of dinner. btf is right, once u enter the ballroom, with the lighting and decor, you can't really tell the difference. I almost forgot it was lunch.

it was a 7 course Chinese fare. and yay no shark fin! food was not bad. I particularly liked the steam fish and herbal emperor chicken. many complained about the dessert, though I felt it was not bad. light and refreshing

so the weekend has concluded with all the excitement about my first friend's wedding. I hereby wish the couple a blissful marriage with lots of love and happiness :)

Congrats to my uncle (141/365)

Every year without fail when i was a little girl, i look forward to this letter. my uncle, having some achievement in Great Eastern will send out cards like these and reward his clients, in the form of meals and it is usually pizza hut. it used to be better like you can spend up to a certain amount and top it up for a hotel stay. last year and this year, it was you have to buy a plan in order to get that hotel stay. boo.

too bad my company don't do this. maybe i should consider some form of reward for my clients, who follow me throughout my career in some form, on way or another. hmmmm

my first friend's wedding

we attended our very first friend's wedding together today! congrats angel and simon :)

and as expected, I found myself tearing when the couple exchanged their speeches and when they presented gifts to their parents. actually I was already alittle emotional seeing the bride walked down the aisle.

secretly I couldn't wait for my own wedding too. I guess it's every girl's dream to walk down the aisle. sigh, prince charming, where art thou?

My first friend's wedding (140/365)

Today is the first day of a two day event and one significant day for me. I haven't reach the age where I keep attending friend's wedding. As this is my very first. Of course when I tell others I am very happy and excited to attend a wedding, they will tell me, you don't know only. Wait till you have one almost every other month. Nonetheless, I still enjoy today alot!!

Friday cell

I love my church and I love the fellowship! it's great to know i have such a supportive network to look out for me and to depend on. :) even though sometimes I wish I had my Fridays free to go out with friends for drinks and all, but Friday cell never fail to lift my spirits up. it's encouraging to see how we help one another and to give support. I love my COS family :)

Colleague went Taiwan and came back with these. Naturally I chose the red one. and when she told me, she so expected i will take this, i was like hmph.. am i so predictable.

but when i start using this, i think it is a little too cute. and not very easy to tie. but nonetheless , i love the checkers. i always wanted accessories or clothings with such checks. like a mini skirt? this is such a jappy style. haha

random lanyard

got this lanyard as a freebie in school last time and have been using it for holding my thumbdrive and DBS Internet banking token. it has served me well so far.

I would think being such a careless and messy person, without this lanyard I would probably have misplaced my token or my thumbdrive very often!

I chanced upon this on the way back home today. I have seen no parking signs before, and the threat of towing away the car. but now they give the number to call if you found your car being towed away.

reminds me, over the weekends, i made my first call to LTA to complain of a illegally parked car. when you want to make a complaint, you have to give your name as well! i was quite surprised at first. but anyway, LTA has all the names and numbers of registered car plate owners. So when we make a complaint, they will just call the owner and ask him to move his car. How come some places can allow people to park illegally and just call to remind them. whereas places like this, have to be towed away? what are the regulations?

meeting people

meetings form a big aspect of my job and I really love that! I love meeting different people, talking to them and sharing insights and exchanging ideas with one another. I love that kind of intellectual exchange, be in at work or even in my personal life. I really love talking to people.

for that very weird reason, I kinda like going for job interviews too. talking to the interviewer and learning more about the company's business or even just learning from them about some insights about the industry or just general current affairs.

I really love meeting and talking to people! =)

washing dishes

I don't normally do household chores. doing laundry and washing the dishes are the 2 chores that I do most often. I would say I'm not bad at them.

so yea, went there for a meal before heading home. =)

gosh the weather's been so crazy these days!! so freaking humid! I need to stay indoors with aircon or I need to down many glasses of cold beverage!

this cooler served us well during the flea market on Saturday. it has played an important part in many of my family outings for providing relief under the scorching sun!

Who buys Elle nowadays? (135/365)

I was packing my room today and I found this. And lots of other sentimental stuff, but this is red.

Anyway, 3 years back when I asked the boy to get me a red longish wallet. Little did I expect him to come present me a Elle wallet. Hmm, I don't know where to start pin pointing what is wrong with the wallet, like the dull red or maybe it has too many compartments inside. But look at what is printed in the bottom right hand corner, Elle. That is what's wrong!!! Who uses Elle, seriously other than my mum and aunties. And I am only 12 then.

So yea, this explains why I kept it chuck one corner. But I found a lot of sweet find memoirs in the wallet, like notes from girlfriend and some cards. Till now, I still don't own a pretty red long wallet. Still waiting...

The event of the year. New route, new sponsor for the running tee but I am not the least bit prepared this year. I collected my race pack with a bit of dread today but I don't blame anyone but the lazy me.

not sure if they had a repackaging or it's a new launch. but this new bright green packaging did catch my attention at the supermarket.

I think among the different brands for sanitary protection, Kotex has the most sophisticated packaging. and their Luxe range looks cool with the black packaging.

Little red girl (133/365)

I saw this little caucasian girl in Chinatown wearing so red I could not resist not putting her as my red picture of the day.

I was at Chinatown today doing flea market. And the weather was freaking hot! There were tourists around but they all stroll by. Wasn't a good place for me. Then again, maybe such places cannot sell clothes because directly opposite our own car boot flea, there are those shop owners working in Chinatown selling their own clothes as well. Maybe next time sell books and vintage stuff. Just not clothes. Haha

Carboot sale!

our $9.90 clothes rack from Giant finally made its debut today! not that good a buy afterall!! now we know, you really pay for quality! you pay peanuts, you get peanuts. the clothes rack was alittle problematic initially but we managed to overcome it and fortunately it did not fail on us for the whole of the Carboot sale.

so yes the best friend and I took part in the Carboot sale at Chinatown today. gosh!! the weather was torturous!! it was so humid!! we downed many many litres of cold liquid! anyway overall sales was pretty slow. i did make some profit but is rather minimal. considering the hours involved.

nonetheless it was a good experience!=)

Magnum temptation

got invited to the launch of magnum temptation which was held at ion square. it was indeed a night of indulgence with magnum ice creams and exquisite gourmet treat.

the new magnum temptation ice cream has syrup-filled chocolate bonbons and added stuffing - either cherries or hazelnut. I tried the hazelnut one and wow it was yummy! :) but then again, anything with chocolate and nuts, I love!!

the main highlight of this launch is the magnum dessert bar! in there, u get to customize your own magnum! first, you choose between the vanilla or chocolate ice cream, then you choose either milk or dark chocolate as your coating. finally, choose the toppings you would to have, ranging from crush almonds, pistachio, chocoballs, white choc crunches, ginger etc. very fun! so I had 2 magnums for the night! =p the dessert bar will be around at ion for the next 2 weeks so do check it out if you are in town!

during the event, we were also pampered with exquisite gourmet snacks, sorry couldn't catch the names. too busy trying everything when the wait staff came around. greedy me strikes! and yes there was also free flow champagne and white wine as well as specially created cocktail hazel temptation and something else I forgot what. I tried the hazel temptation which I think was supposed to be chocolate martini. rather unique taste. but i think I'll stick to my chocolate milk shake.

overall, it was a good event! so excited because it's my first time at such events and I've always wanted to attend! :) well, all will be perfect if only the weather wasn't so humid.

Pre Happy Mother's Day (132/365)

I chanced upon this on the bus today. Somewhere in this whole week if elementary school, ending today, I am sure teachers are teaching kids to make a mother's day gift for their mums. It could be a flower, a drawing, or anything. I remember making a sunflower card for my mum years ago when I was still in kindergarten.

This is a bag that my cousin bought for me from London. I just realized she bought me my first 'branded' bag, this one and also my first 'branded' wallet from coach.

I have to admit I am a brand conscious person. And such materialistic wants make me a greedy ugly woman at times. I cannot resist a handbag with a brand. Lv, Gucci, celine, Burberry. You name it, I want it. And trading magazine about them only makes my desires stronger.

Of course I must always remind myself. Where my heart is will be where my treasures are. And I don't eat a life only hankering after such stuff that will tot and perish.

another environment post

maybe cos environment issues are green related or maybe cos I'm just more interested in these issues. here's another way of helping to save the environment - recycling your used cartridges!

I see that there are many of such recycle box around, mainly in the national library. I think it's a good idea to recycle our cartridges and I know some companies do specialize in that. but many times, most people just want the easy way out and not make the effort to recycle their stuff, afterall it's so much more convenient to just dump it in the bins.

I hope more companies will adopt green practices!

Ah-neo-ha-seiyo!!! Red kimchi! The importance of real authentic Korean food. I have been having a craving for Korean food for the longest time. And each time I eat sucky korean food, it only makes the craving worse.

Finally today, good authentic Korean food. Spicy Kimchi, rich in flavor and all the rest of the small dishes. Yummy!

laundry

I think one of the housework chores that I'm slightly better at is doing the laundry and then hanging them. haha. but I can't iron clothes for nuts.

there are different ways of hanging the laundry. and the type of clothes also affects how you want to hang it. I normally use only one peg for each clothes cos i'm lazy. I dont mind hanging the laundry but I don't quite like keep the dried clothes.

Notice that red line that says the email is going to burst? i hate it everytime i see it in my email and that means i have to start clearing emails that i think is not important anymore. The thing about office mail using pacific net is that it bursts very easily, the space is so small. my colleagues are always asking me to use outlook express or even thunderbird. but stubborn me always refuses. i told her i don't wanna do something that everyone does.

sometimes pride really gets in my way and thus, i have to endure such shit. =/

Caring for the environment

yes I probably post about being green and caring for the environment before. but well, I really do have a passion for this! I've been seeing this sign pretty often whenever I make my way to my client's and it does catch my attention, mainly because its green. the ad isn't very pretty though. but I wonder, how effective is this ad? and if anyone really takes in the message on it.

My mum got me this handbag. She was like asking isn't it pretty? And I was like errr.., deep down thinking when would I want to be seen carrying his handbag. Of course it was a sweet gesture from her (i'm saying this cos mama's day is coming) but still... haik. such gifts are those that i dunno how to reject, don't wanna lie and say it is nice.

public toilets

public toilets, especially those in shopping malls are getting cooler and with more creative designs.
i thought this toilet was pretty nice. haha! can you guess where is this place?

speaking of public toilets, i love the public toilets in japan. every single one of them is so clean and well maintained! even the ones at train station are so clean!! lets hope all public toilets in singapore will reach that of japan's standards!
