Robinson Expo sale

now that I'm working so near the expo, i've been visiting the exhibition halls pretty often to check out the various fairs. so there's the mph sale and robinsons sales in this weekend. not a good idea to step into the Robinson sale, even though it was totally similar to the John little one a couple of weeks back, I ended up buying random nonsense!

was just thinking though, these department stores keeps having such sales, it seems like they are just taking turns to have such sale consecutively, won't that erode their brand? who will shop at the main stores when i get better deals at these sales that are happening so often?

Me to you (244/365)

And the only kind of stuffed toy I would ask for.

Me to you bear has alot of memories. it's my love story. but the sad thing is that, me to you bear is hairy, not so much of fluffy but hairy so collect alot of dust. so me being sensitive skin lately cannot stand the dust and all.

i still love them!!! i want everything related to them!

Twin crab pasta (243/365)

This is crab pasta with soft shell crabs. Yummilicious!!!! Two kinda of crabs. But too much cholesterol and fattening mans.

Basic medical

i think having some first aid knowledge is very useful and handy. well i have zilch. I only know how to use plaster. but I think the red cross society does conduct first aid courses now and then, not too sure about it. maybe I should go check it out one of these days. might be quite fun to play around with the bandages and all. haha!

Singtel (242/365)

I am visiting singtel quite a few times lately. I want to find out about the bundle package plans that are available since I have fibre optic wires now. So maybe I can have much faster Internet soon!

biscuits

remember these colourful biscuits from our childhood? 20cents or something can get you a whole packet. how old school :)

so recently there was a campaign at work and each of us was given a goodie bag with these old school snacks. besides this colour round biscuits, there's also the biscuits with the colour sugary thing at the top. so nostalgic.

Mooncake festival is coming (241/365)

I am sure this is something everyone can identify with. I think it's everyone. Don't know about the youngsters though. But when I see this, I know mooncake festival is coming. What do we call this?? 小猪饼?? Haha

Xerox printing paper

I think they Fuji xerox changed corporate colour. i don't remember them being so green! I always thought they were red in colour. but anyhow, I'm loving this green!

anyway talking about paper, i hate paper cuts! stupid me actually got a paper cut on my cheeks today! how dumb is that!

Kettle Chips

ok this is not good! I'm not referring to the chips but my shopping habits. I'm going to supermarkets everyday! and everytime I go, I end up buying something without fail!! I'm so falling into the traps of all these promos! manufacturers and retailers will really love me.

so cold storage is having their $3.45 promo on kettle chips again! and yes I bought it. this is the first time I'm trying the jalapeño flavour under the recommendation of my colleague. I usually buy the honey or cheese one. well this flavour is really not bad!! I brought it to bible study fellowship today and everyone loved it too!! good choice!

Romantic candlelight dinner (240/365)

Can you tell that this is not real? It is electric candle. There is something very romantic about eating candlelight dinner but truth be told, if it is real candle, the place will get heated up. And getting hot and flushed while eating your candlelight dinner is not a pretty sight.

The reason why I like eating I semi dim setting is because I think I look prettiest then. Someone once told me, in dim setting, a person seemed pretty and flawless. That is the kind of lie dim lights can do to you.

Natas Fair (239/365)

Natas Fair ends today. I remember going natas fair when i was 17. and that was when there is no admission fee for going into the fair. and i remember signing my first and last package at travel fair. that was to australia with my cousin to visit her sister (my cousin). that experience was quite something because a few weeks before the travel date, the company called to say they have to cancel because not enough people. my cousin was the one who handled it and i think she made some noise or what, the next thing i know, we get travel vouchers. whatever tour package we were supposed to go on, we got it free and easy. that was one of the good trips that i had with my cousin. at such young age. =) =)

anyway, now natas has an admission fee of $4. and that did deter some people from going. I guess that was the purpose. to make only those who will buy package go and those who wanna just see see don't go. but seriously, i don't mind paying the 4 bucks to go the travel fair! i wanna travel!!!!!

Pokka Jasmine Green Tea

this is one of my favourite drinks. I think it was first introduced to me by BTF in secondary school. dont think she remembers she was the one that introduced me to it. =p

anyway this is the number 1 ready-to-drink tea brand in Singapore! I usually buy the small bottle ones or the tetra packs. so when I saw this in the supermarket, I think it looks pretty interesting. quite a unique packaging! I mean we've not seen any other brands in this format before I think. apparently it's a limited edition from Japan.

shop and save was having a 2for promotion and it was beside the cashier so it ended up in my shopping basket! this new job is making me spend too much time in supermarkets and causing me to fall for temptations and spending too much on random stuff!

One bowl of ice kachang please (238/365)

I like to eat the red part of ice kachang. I like the red jelly, the red beans and the colouring that is in red colour.

so i cannot eat ice kachang myself. i always need to share with someone and preferably share with someone who don't mind eating whatever i don't eat. the non red stuff. haha!

playgrounds

which kid doesn't like the playground? I'm sure every kid enjoys coming down the slide! I love the playground as a kid. but in those days playgrounds still had sand to play with and I remember I usually go to the playground downstairs to play with sand with my toy pail and spades.

nowadays all playgrounds are made of these plastic materials with rubber grounding and we seldom see swings at playgrounds anymore. I miss those playgrounds in those days!

Crunch!

one of the perks in my current job is that I get to try lots of goodies. things that I like. so I got some samples of some new range of crunch chocolates. these are with pistachio! havent tried it but sure sounds like something I like. chocolate+nuts. my fave combi if you remember!

anyway not sure whether you can find them in all supermarkets but I saw them in shop n save! so go get one and try!!

Red bean mochi (237/365)

I love mochi!!! and i think my partner will totally disagree with this statement. she apparently hates mochi. she dislikes the qq taste whereas i love the qq taste!!! i love anything of that texture. i like muah chee... mochi, pearls or whatever is of that texture!! yummmsss

Himawari Jap Restaurant

so I finally got to meet up with BTF today. feels like its been awhile. and I gave her a birthday treat. this is a rare find! everyone should go visit this restaurant so that it won't close down anytime soon!

I love buffets. though as I'm getting older now and eating not as much as last time. this is an ala carte jap buffet, quite similar to the now defunct hanabi. their sashimi may not be the best but with this kind of money, it's decent and the slices are huge! i love that the buffet comes with a shabu shabu steamboat! but I think 2 persons is alittle limiting. it would have been better with more people so we could order more variety of food!

the restaurant is at plaza8 in changi biz park. alittle out of the way for those not working/staying in the east. but definitely a rare gem! please visit them! so they won't go out of business and I get to come back again!!

Melben Seafood (236/365)

Melben seafood is not unfamiliar to many. I finally finally had a chance to taste it. I didn't go to the original one, which they told me is at ang mo kio. I had a super good seafood feast today!

I love to eat seafood, but i was abstaining recently. guess after this meal, i need to start watching my seafood diet. cholesterol high, no choice.

I love crabs, i love prawns and i love fish! YUMMS.

i wanna go back again!

travelling plans

I love travelling with a huge passion! ok, who doesn't like travelling. one of my favourite past times is checking air tickets and travel itineraries. in my free time, I'll just randomly check out ticket prices and when I do walk past travel agencies, I pick up travel itineraries like this.

I'm already marking down the holidays in 2013 and trying to fit in trips! hope they will materialise because more often than not, these trips usually stop at planning :( I can't find travel companions!! :((

Prawn noodles from RWS (235/365)

This is RED hot spicy prawn noodles from Resort World Sentosa (RWS).

This can be found at the malaysia food street that is newly (i think) opened at RWS. When you are there, be transported to the nostalgic old towns while indulging in authentic Malaysian hawker fare. Delicious selections of famous street fare from various parts of the Peninsula, like KL Claypot Rice, Penang Hokkien Prawn Mee, Kampung Nasi Lemak, Klang Bak Kut Teh and many more, await the whole family.

With the wide variety of mouth-watering authentic Malaysian dishes combined with the unique old town ambience under one roof at Malaysian Food Street this is definitely one dining destination not to be missed.

Do check it out! Beats eating inside USS.

Lenny (233/365)

I chanced upon this picture. I took a picture of it cos it is red though it scares me a little. Then I found out after that in a bookstore that he is called Lenny. There is a non-fiction book on him even!

hari raya puasa

always welcome a public holiday! thankful for this long weekend. in more ways than one.

and to all my Muslim friends, selamat hari raya! :)

supporting local arts

i love local productions! but they are usually expensive :( so can't afford to go for all of them even though I really wish I could. the last show I watched was happy ever laughter which was hilarious! I've watched a couple of hossen leong's stand up comedy and I liked them. i want to go for this one!

Hand me down bottle (232/365)

This used to be my bottle, i love it because it is red and has flowers. But it became abit too bulky for me. so i kinda just left it at home, untouched until recently, i noticed it beside the sink, washed and all. i got curious so i asked my mum about it. she told me, my dad took it as his hand me down bottle. he will use it during his day when he is driving. ahh, taxi drivers really need to drink lots of water. i am glad my pretty red bottle has someone else to serve now.

hari raya bazaar

without fail, for the last 4 years, I visit the hari raya bazaar at geylang serai during this time of the year. mainly for the unhealthy food they are selling there. so sinful but so good! =p roti john, kebab, vadai, chicken wings, cheese sausage etc. every stall is so tempting! the stalls already start selling in the afternoon though the crowds usually come at night.

this bazaar usually take place for the whole month of Ramadan and covering 3 long stretch of roads. from paya lebar to eunos mrt. yay to bazaars!

Paul frank (231/365)

I love my new nights shorts! My favorite colour and one of my favorite brand. Not cheap though but who cares. I am seriously in holiday mood! Haha

Polar puffs

was in charge of refreshments for my cell today and was relatively worried that I didn't bring enough food and drinks. unlike the other members, I don't have the luxury to personally prepare and cook the food. I just ended up packing from somewhere. so today I brought chicken pie, tuna etc. from polar puffs! not too bad and they were having promotions!

Post box from krabi (230/365)

I want to send a letter to myself from krabi but apparently, i am thought of being silly and waste money.

but this is so cool!!!

Fanta (229/365)

Fanta Strawberry in Thai!

Fanta is supposedly something we grow up in. Everyone knows Fanta orange, the famous one. The rest seems to only created in recent years?

Milo Less Sugar

milo has a new range!! the newly launched milo less sugar 3in1! it contains 25% less total sugar as compared to the normal 3in1. I've tasted it and it doesn't compromise on the goodness of milo! in fact it taste richer and more malty! so for the health conscious but still love a malty drink, this product is for me!! especially for those who dont drink caffeine like me.

it's available in stores already! so go get one and try! I'm sure you'll love it! spread the milo love!! and live on the lighter side of life!

lucky draw contest

As you probably would have already known, I love cheap thrills and taking part in lucky draws or random contests. so recently my company had a word search contest to win some limited edition gift packs left over from one of our recent campaigns. and of course I took part in it! lucky me actually was picked to be one of the 10 winners! got myself the gift pack which was no big deal. there was a box of limited edition chocolates. not too bad! and I like that the chocolates are bite sized. there's hazelnut, praline. white, dark and milk chocolate with different colour packaging. I like the hazelnut one!

Big prawn!!! (228/365)

And this is not even the biggest!

This is their medicum size prawn. I don't know if i want to try their jumbo size, the biggest. I love krabi and everything about it. Cheap seafood just top the list!

Green Tea mouthwash

Colgate Plax has a new mouthwash! I think it's new. cos I've never seen it before. I know they have the blue, the white and the pink one. the pink mouthwash is one of the more interesting one that I noticed. I think the green for this green tea mouthwash is nice! makes me tempted to buy it and it being on promotion in Watson is even more tempting! but it's such a huge bottle! I don't use mouthwash that often except on overseas

TWG (227/365)

English Breakfast Tea.

If you ask me if i prefer coffee or tea, my first answer to you will be tea of course!

Monday, August 13, 2012

Kickapoo!

do you still remember this drink? it's not as commonly found as coca cola but it was a relatively popular carbonated drink back then. it even has a camp song to it!!

so hari raya is round the corner and Kickapoo fits not only the hari raya colour but also my theme for the blog! pokka has taken over the distributorship of Kickapoo which many wouldn't have linked it too since pokka is mostly well known for their teas. anyway very eye catching ad at the bus stop! reminds me that I haven't drank Kickapoo for a long while! making me wanna go get one!

Campbell's Soup (226/365)

The easy way out when i am too lazy to cook dinner for myself. Although i am not a very creamy person, i don't like cream period. But certain campbell soup can be quite yummy. like the mushroom series, clam chowder. i love the chunky series! someone once told me, can put macroni in and bake it. you will get creamy pasta.

Sunday, August 12, 2012

Chupa Chups (225/365)

Which little kid don't like this? I grew up with Chupa Chups! when i was young, it is not that i love eating sweets but rather, i felt that it was super cool to suck on a lollypop, letting the stick hang out from my mouth. Now, don't laugh. Which little kid don't think of childish and ridiculous though at some point of their life. Or else how to differentiate adults and kids.

Well, that was in the past. And now being the adult me, i didn't develop a sweet tooth. Too much candy make me nausea. But chupa chups will always be part of my memories.

Sunday service

guilty as charged, I've been missing church service for almost a month for various reasons. am glad to be back today. the church bulletin has a special significance to me, I'll never forget one of the incidence that happen to me. the story is for another day.

anyway the church bulletin not only keeps us updated on the activities and announcements in church, it also help to keep me awake sometimes on sleepy Sundays as I try to keep myself occupied by reading every single thinking on the bulletin. and I remember how BTF and I used to scribble messages on the bulletin to communicate. naughty us.

hang it up!

with the amount of clothes my household has, the amount of hangers we own is also alot! there are a few different types of hangers - the thick plastic ones as shown below, the old school thin wired ones, the ikea plastic ones, the wooden ones, the ones with clips to hang trousers etc. i have all types of hangers at home. while some people do go to the extent of standardising their hangers. i would love to standardise the hangers in my own house next time!

Gym day (224/365)

Went to the gym today. My boyfriend signed me in with his membership. We wanted to try some dance class but we were more than an hour early, so we decided to go for the class before the dance class call Lose it. And boy, were they serious about getting us to lose it.

The class is an hour long and intensive. Maybe it is for me (it is only for beginners) because it has been a really long time since i last exercised. We did cardios then strength then back to cardio then strengths and ended off with cardios. I realised my hands are very weak, or rather my arms. I cannot even support my own weight for long. Either that, i am too heavy for my own hands. But it was fun, overall. I started aching even before the day ends.

Tmr's ache will be worse. i know it.

girls' night out

I've been a bad girl. skipped cell for dinner with my girls. but it's been more than a month since we last met! always love nights out like these (: thankful for girlfriends!

but yes, I need to get my priorities right too. need to put God first!!

Notebook with a statement (223/365)

I always like notebooks with a statement. it could be a meaningful quote or a quirky statement. whatever catches my eye. In the past, when i was schooling, i would use the excuse of starting a new semester to buy myself a notebook. And people like me will never finish using the notebook before i got attracted to another one. So i have alot of half finished notebooks lying around at home. I am like that. When new things come, i forget how much i used to like the old stuff.

happy 47th birthday!

let's celebrate! it's our nation'a 47th year of being independent!! so proud of this small but so established country of mine! I love Singapore!! and i carry my red passport with pride!

however I've since outgrown the NDP parades and haven't caught it live for the past 4 years. I used to love watching it especially the march pass. but now I find it so boring! i still love the fireworks though. :)

once again, happy birthday my beloved Singapore! continue to prosper and make a mark on the world map!

Happy Birthday, Singapore!! (222/365)

Count on me, Singapore! Count on me, Singapore! Count on me to give my best and more. Count on me, Singapore! Happy birthday Singapore! I am very thankful to live in this sheltered country, safe and all. Of course, I have my complaints and unhappiness living here but that is for another day.

August is a good month!!!

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

It's all about hymns (221/365)

Every Wednesday morning, it's all about singing hymns. At a traditional church like the one I attend every Wednesday morning for my bsf, we sing hymns every week. Though traditional, but it is peaceful and nice, with just the sound of piano and all the ladies singing. I get a vision of how heaven would be like already. Haha

Cold Storage sales

i like checking out atrium sales and cold storage is having one at changi city point this week. apparently the theme is mainly on Taiwan where they are selling alot of taiwan specialty snacks. my colleagues all bought something from the fair! i was tempted by the cheap kettle chips going at $3.40 but i managed to stop myself. I was the only one going back to office without a bag of stuff! good for me!

Tuesday, August 7, 2012

welfare pears!

apparently at my new workplace, fruits are provided every week to promote healthy living! and today they are giving out pears! I like pears, but like apples, I eat them mostly when they are cut for me by someone. spoilt I know. but i don't quite like to eat the fruit as a whole. don't like the feeling of it getting stuck in my teeth. haha. anyway I prefer Chinese pears though. the yellow ones.

remember to eat your fruit today!

Ampang Yong Tau Foo (220/365)

Usually I am not a meat person that is why I love yong tau foo. But strangely, I love ampang style as well.

Ampang yong tau foo has meat inside each piece of ingredient, such as stuffing meat inside the tau kwa, the tau pok and also bittergourd and other pieces you find when eating yong tau foo. My favorite stall has got to be the one along katong.
