bleach

ok this is a damn unsightly picture. looks like my house pipes need repainting. but the focus is the bleach! cos it's a green bottle. I like adding bleach to my white clothes! loves
it when my clothes get washed and come out really white! feels so clean.
but don't like the biting feeling on the skin, hence need to use the rubber gloves when doing the laundry with bleach!

The transformation of radio (305/365)

This is how much radios have transformed over the years. I still remember when i was 5 years old, radio is a black colour box that don't look particularly pretty. They is a button for us to push and then we can put our cassette in it. And there is a record button, the normal rewind, play and fast forward. Look how much radios have transformed. So pretty nowadays!

Do not waste food (304/365)

I used to like eating buffets. I am a person who likes to have variety and not a person who likes to gorge myself. But after every buffet, i end up feeling gorged and this is probably why!!

Wastage charges!

I thought this was there to ward off people who has intention to waste food. Because when eating buffet, alot of people tend to take more than they can eat. They do so because it is buffet, they can take everything. Whether they can finish, the don't care. So that is why companies came out with this wastage charges to make sure people don't waste food. But over the years, i realised i really cannot finish everything sometimes and i will initially try to hide my food here and there, but i realised they never ever charge me. So i got boldy and waste bit by bit, thinking ah! this sign is just something to scare people with. They won't really make people pay for it. UNTIL, i have a friend who was charged for wastage! LITERALLY first person i heard who gets charged for food wastage! Now i know, this is not just a warning, it is real!

home packed lunch

yay mummy packed spaghetti from home for me today! in a green lunchbox. and I used the green spork (spoon+fork) that my colleague bought as a gift for me from hong kong. actually it should be a sporknife. cos it has a knife feature too! 3in1, very good for camping! I like it!! very convenient and for meals in the office! home packed lunches help me to save money too!

 

Prego paste sauce (303/365)

I am a huge tomato based pasta fan. And Prego was the first brand of tomato sauce i tried to cook my pasta with. It is nice, i still like it now, just that i make my own tomato pasta sauce now. But my standard is nowhere near Prego's. Mine is not as rich as Prego's. I will perfect my sauce one of these days when i have enough practise and enough guinea pigs to try out for me!

green cab!

cabs are so cheap in batam! though I don't like that other than in Singapore, most other southeast Asian countries do not use the meters for their taxi. sometimes I do wonder if being a cab driver in these countries is profitable cos they can only depend on tourists.
but anyway we met a nice cab driver on the way back and I feel bad that we thought he was trying to bluff us when he didn't want to bring us to a bakery opposite our hotel. but he brought us to the same chain of bakery somewhere else. it was quite a hilarious moment. the short getaway was good.

Old man candy (302/365)

This made me feel that it is some herbal medicated candy. one where people eat to recover from a cough or something. Such old man pictured candies still exist! super old school. i think if i am a film maker and need to shoot a scene from the 70s, this will most likely become one of my prop. Things like that pop out when you don't have a need for them. When you wanna find oldies stuff, it is never easy.

Indonesian instant noodle

i love shopping at supermarket, especially when I'm overseas. checking out what unique products they have. and I guess it is kind of a occupational hazard too. leave me alone in a supermarket and I get self entertain for at least an hour or two! and when I'm in batam, I'll buy back their indomie! you see many Singaporeans buying cartons of indomie back too! within my stash of indomie, I'll include a few cup noodles too! and I like that they have the mini version. nice to snack on although instant noodles aren't very healthy snacks!

A&W

and of course when you take the 50mins ferry over, you definitely can't miss eating at A&W! I miss having that fast food chain in Singapore! always love their curly fries, waffles and root beer!

but the service is really bad! had to wait so long to be served at the counter and for the food to come! thank you for waiting? pfft. so slow and because of their inefficiencies, we couldn't get to eat our waffles! :( but the curly fries and root beer still taste as good! much love!

Bags of charcoal (301/365)

I chanced upon this when i was looking for wire gauze. This can usually be found near things to use during bbq. Fire starters, tongs, all the plastic plates and cutlery. Other than for bbq, what do people usually use charcoal for?

Lunchbox (300/365)

I want to buy a lunchbox like this. One where i can pack food and bring to office, heat it up and eat. This is quite a good way to save the environment, because i won't need to pack food and throw away styrofoam or plastic bags.

When i get my house, i will most definitely do that.

short getaway!

off I go for a really short getaway this long weekend. so short and so near I don't even consider it a trip. so here I am off again to batam. just a 2d1n trip to chill and just basically to get a chop on my passport which always secretly makes me happy. ok, not so secret actually. you can see the silly grin on my face everytime I cross the customs!
and this time the chop is green! it's usually dark blue actually. I aim to use up at least half my passport before it expires next year and I have about 5 pages to go??

If you were to take circle line, you'll see these interesting posters about the circle line stations. so apparently bras basah has the longest elevator in the station! yah you bet! that escalator that is below the water pond feature outside Smu. bras basah is also the deepest circle line station!

Bird nest for you (299/365)

I love bird nest. I don't particularly like how it taste, but i like what it does to your skin. I heard from the boy that when his mum was pregnant with him, she ate bird nest almost every day. That could explain why he does not grow pimples.

My mum told me to brew your own bird nest is always better than eating those from the bottle like the ones below. I guess everything cooked or done by ourselves are better than those we buy outside. Outside will 偷功减料, that is why. When i am pregnant in the future, i will demand that i drink bird nest every day!! brewed and boiled from the pot. not these from the bottle! =)

alarm clock

2 alarms are not enough to wake me up! even for wake up calls, sometimes you need to call me a second time to make sure I'm awake. my partner can vouch to that!

nowadays, most people usually use their handphones as an alarm, I think few people use a physical alarm clock like this. sometimes though these alarms can be rather effective cos they are really loud! i used to use physical alarms in primary and secondary school. but you know what's the best alarm for me? my mummy! =p

Is it Christmas already? (298/365)

I was looking for my favourite wafer biscuits, those long wafer biscuits that are always so addictive, i chanced upon this on the bottle of my favourite wafer biscuits. Is it really Christmas already? or advertising starts so early? Then again, the next big event for marketing people to start early is Christmas. It is nearing the end of the year, the season i like the most. The festive feeling, bubbly music and partying!

Christmas, i wish you are here all year round.

Canned longan (297/365)

This is a very good dessert. What i meant is that it cane be mixed with alot of different things to make different dessert. For one, i can make almond jelly tofu, cut it up, mix it with this canned of longans, put a little water and add ice. I would have a dessert to serve. Alternatively, i can make it as a drink, add, ice cream soda in and mixed it up like a concoction. Well, the creativity is yours. One can do anything with the simple can of longans.
 

lunar calendar

isn't this calendar super old school. found this at my grandma's house. this is such a traditional calendar! tearing in one day at a time. and also telling you about the lunar dates. it also contains alot of other chinese information which i can't be bothered to read. i wonder if anyone bothers.

anyway, today is 23rd and it's my grandma's birthday! happy birthday mama!!

Super market shopping (296/365)

Anywhere I go when i am on a holiday, i would like to go to the supermarket and trust me, i can spend a long long time there. I already like to shop at supermarket when i am in Singapore, can explore the different kinds of food, newly imported into the country.

Anyway, i was at bangkok and of course we had to do shopping at the supermarket. Checking out things that cannot be found in singapore, sampling this and that. I wanted to buy this back, only because it comes with a free glass. But the price is not exactly cheaper or anything so not worth the buy. Oh well....

Matcha ice cream

realised I'm not so much a dessert person, not that into cakes and Chinese tang shui. but I'll never reject ice cream! although I don't normally order desserts from the same dinner place, I'll usually adjunct to another place for desserts. but anyway we had dinner at watami and their desserts look tempting. ordered the crepe with matcha ice cream and I love it! you should try it! well, you can never go wrong with matcha ice cream!

Mode of transport (295/365)

Thisis used as the mode of transport when we took the train from stations to stations in bangkok. I was quite afraid i will lose it because it is so small and my pocket wasn't very deep.  And trust me, this is something that i could easily lose. One thing about bangkok is that, alot of things are quite similar to Singapore. I never like to go holidays where it reminds me of another Singapore. I prefer a holiday that takes me away from city life. Like Krabi, my last holiday. I miss being able to chill. and chill, and chill.

scoop it!

my love for green has rubbed off on my family as well. or maybe because mummy knows that i love the colour green, when she buys stuff for the house, she is more incline to buy the colour green.

i have a new mini scoop/pail at home and it's in green too! as what my partner mentioned, red and green are actually very common colours and also good complements of each other. as you see, most of the stuff in my toilet is actually red, the large pails are usually red. and now i have a green scoop! really does stand out among the other things!

 

Walkie talkie (294/365)

This is the walkie talkie carried by the hotel room service guy whom we trouble quite a few times just the first night of our trip.

First, we needed more pillows, then we needed more towels. Don't ask me why we never check properly before we made the call. And they say that there was a safe deposit box, which we wouldn't find so the person had to come up and show it to us. Thankfully for me, his walkie talkie is red!

woots! i like the colour of this cleaning sign! it's the first time im seeing it in green! found this outside taka toilet.

this common sign is usually in yellow. what a rare find and in a shade of green that i like!

Cigar at duty free (293/365)

Before I board the plane today to head to Bangkok, we stopped by the duty free so that my smoke friend ( i hate call her this way) could buy cigarettes for the whole trip. And then someone suggested trying cigar and tada! We bought cigar for the trip. Cigar could range from very cheap like 10 plus 20 bucks to 100 plus bucks. This is just mid range. and it happens to be red in packaging so i took a picture of it.

Omega milk

Osteoporosis is common among more mature ladies. Hence, it is important that we ladies have sufficient calcium intake and what's best to get this source of nutrient is from drinking milk! Besides being rich in calium, Omega milk has this improved ingredient called plant sterols that helps to reduce heart disease. Drinking a cup of omega milk a day can help reduce your risk of heart disease as well!

my grandma used to drink the 3in1 milo instead of milk powder even though milk has more calcium because of the inconvenience of having to make your own milk and not knowing how much milk powder to put in. it's alittle troublesome. but not to worry! omega milk has the 3in1 packets too! and my grandma loves it! makes drinking milk so much easier! and besides you don't need to put hot water, just your normal room temperature will do! how convenient is that! and the taste is nice too. at least thats what my grandma said, she loves it! so now i'll buy 2 packets for her every month and whenever i go to visit her to replenish her omega stocks, she always tells me its running out already! so i guess the milk is really nice. happy and makes me feel assured that my grandma is taking in enough calcium because she has really weak legs. so hopefully her health will be better!

 

storage space

found this little storage trolley at my tutee's place. i have alot of such storage containers/trolleys/drawers at home but it always seems never enough! this picture reminds me i need to go buy more storage containers to store the barangs i've been accumulating!

and of course, i think i'll go for the colour green! =p

 

Ice cream anyone? (292/365)

I found this in my house and frankly, i'm quite surprised. And that is because the only person whom I though eats ice cream at home is me. and I will definitely NOT buy this flavour. I hate anything remotely cream colour, white or off white. I am a chocolate fan. die hard chocolate ice cream fan. And the other reason why this could never be mine is because i will NEVER buy King's ice cream. Yucks! What more can i say, King's taste creamy and not very authentic ice cream taste. I don't really know how to describe the taste but not good.

Water heater (291/365)

I need water heater, anytime anywhere. I am someone who is super afraid of the cold. even if i just came back on a very hot day. I will just cool myself down by not bathing immediately but i find myself turning on the heater. Of course i don;t bathe the super hot kind, but i need just that hint of eat in my water anytime of the day and anywhere i go. Especially when i go for an holiday. i need the heater in the cold col hotel room.

happy boss' day!

apparently yesterday was bosses' day. we only knew it on the day itself so during lunch time, we went to get a last minute gift for our boss. and because our boss is very rich and probably has everything, we didn't know what to get her. wanted to get her a bouquet of flowers but the ready-made ones weren't pretty. in the end we bought a moet chandon champagne for her! which explains this picture that i secretly took when we were making payment.

Ion Orchard

it's been awhile since I walked down along orchard and busking in the light and sound. and especially so now that I'm working in the east, town is too far for me! unlike last time we can still get to go orchard for lunch.

so anyway I got a belated birthday treat today! crystal jade Korean BBQ! yay! thanks nic and BTF for the treat and great time of fellowship! :)

heard the Christmas decorations are slowly coming up. it's only October! but yah, do head down to check out the lightings in a few weeks time!

I heard of a myth, if you want your hair to grow straight and nice, brush it through 100 times. I have yet to try it, maybe someone should and try it for a month. Let me know the results.

wholemeal bread

I love eating bread! well, ok basically im carbs person (a trait both BTF and I share). I can really eat bread everyday! and there are actually many different flavours of bread, especially with the bonjour brand. but of course the most common one is the white bread or the wholemeal bread. the wholemeal bread is of course the healthier one. why is it so? i have no idea. and I don't get why is it always priced higher than white bread! doesn't white bread need more processing and hence a higher cost? never did understand why. just like how brown rice is always more expensive than white rice but isn't. brown rice more natural, hence lesser processing to it?

oh well, I'm just glad to have the occasional promotions or when I feel like indulge and to get to eat wholemeal bread.

Tomatoes (289/365)

I eat tomatoes as part of my diet. I have started a daily tomato eating for close to 2 months. I eat them raw and at the end of the day, after my dinner. It is supposed to be healthy and i to fulfill my daily dose of Vitamin C. I chose tomatoes because it is easy and versatile to eat. Versatile because we can find them in our meals sometimes, like Yong Tau Foo. Nowadays, i will just take one whole tomato as one dish for my Yong Tau Foo.

But my diet has been abit screwed up since i went on holiday. It is not easy to find tomatoes anytime you want it. And even if i found in supermarkets, who is going to chop it for me. Maybe i should learn to eat it just like an apple. Anyway, i'm starting the diet again. And i will last it until my wedding. I will!

weighing scale

this is a classic weighing scale which is a common sight in the market. walked past the minimarket in my estate today and had to take this for my pic of the day. as technology and people advances, I think this kind of weighing machine might get phased out soon and be replaced by electronic ones! so maybe you can consider going out to buy one now cos they might be worth a sum of money when they become antiques next time!

Pretty Alcohol (288/365)

I chanced upon this when i was looking for alcohol. I'm quite a drinker recently. I found the joy of drinking slowly in good company, chatting, and having fun. And ending off with a little tipsy at the end. =)

So, this is such a pretty alcohol. I wanted to buy it, but i never really like anything other than wine and beer. So i just took a picture of this.

Eversoft Shower Foam

I've been using bath & body works shower gel for the past few months and I really love it. but recently I think Eversoft must be having some kind of promotions cos i saw 2 big bottles in our bathroom. my mum must have bought it cos we never use this brand before! smells quite nice. and it says it's for firming and toning, I wonder how true issit! let's see...

My fav piggy bank (287/365)

When GV came out with this as a gift in their combo, i immediately got it. This is a huge piggy bank in the form of a Coca Cola can. As you can see, it is as tall as the photoframe i have behind.

And then shortly after, GV came out with the Coke Zero one, which is black in colour so i cannot post it as a red picture of the day, i got one immediately. And before i could even fill up this red coke can, GV came out with a Coke light one! And i bought it too! So now i have a 3/4 full red coke can, and 2 empty ones. Haha.

I only save $1 and not very consistently. Thus 3/4 filled only.

late night sinful meal

because we didn't have dinner and we were alittle paiseh to eat at cell, BTF and i decided to indulge ourselves in an unhealthy way. both of us had strong craving for macs so we headed to the nearby macs to satisfy the craving. so much for saying we don't wanna have fast food. but yay got to eat my fries!! :)

and BTF reminded me that it's our consecutive 3rd Friday supper together! time just fly when you are in good company. :)

Khong Guan biscuits (286/365)

I used to like such biscuits because they are cheap and comes in quite handy for a tea time snack. But i always only take the chocolate ones. That was before i discovered Chips Ahoy, Famous Amous and Tim Tams.

Now, i only eat Famous Amous. Such biscuits taste abit fake to me now. haha!  i have grown and so has my tongue.

milo snack bar

ok I'm blogging about milo again.. but im not talking about my favourite drink this time. I'm talking about other variants of milo products. so this is the milo chocolate bar! my colleague passed it to me to try but i can't buy to try it yet. not sure if they are available in stores. coming here make me realise that there are actually many other mill products like milo biscuits, milo Choco balls etc! I only knew of milo nuggets and ice cream before this!

PC game (285/365)

I like playinggames on my PC, but never such games as shown below. I like games like Role-Playing kinds, commonly known as RPGs. Sims is a good example of RPG. And i also like to play games that has a story line with time management, like Diner Dash, if anyone knows. My partner on the other hand simply love battle, warfield kind of games. Alot of violence, very very noisy. And he sometimes play bball too. We both think that such games are wasting each other's time. Though we fully enjoy our own genre. I even bought some online because i want to complete it and know the end of the story. Not to mention, i own quite a few versions of Sims. Not pirated kind.

subway 1for1

the cheapo that i am and also being a loving sister, I braved the long queue to enjoy the nationwide promotion which subway was having today! pretty worth it! i can really eat sandwiches everyday mans!

Whiteboard marker(284/365)

In every meeting, there will be presentations, coaching and whiteboard markers will be used. When i was younger, i bought a mini whiteboard and hang it in my room. I bought alot alot of markers then and i drew on my whiteboard with my markers all night long. making myself look very important with lots of schedules written on it such as my timetable. Self planned timetable that is.

Traders Hotel lunch buffet

I have an external training for these 2 days at traders hotel. and so lunch is provided for! very sumptuous buffet lunch, totally spoilt for choice! they had Japanese, Chinese, indian, Italian cuisines and even our local hainanese chicken rice! and of course there was the dessert corner with the choc fondue and even ice cream! I was so full after that and it was so difficult to stay awake! greedy me at work again.

getting lost in the west

the west side of Singapore is like a foreign land to me. I'm a true blue Eastie and i love the east! however, my job entailed me to head to the west today. almost got lost trying to figure out the stupid LRT system! in all, spent like 4 hours travelling to and backS gosh, the west really feels so unfamiliar and different from the east, even though Singapore is so small!

Notebook (282/365)

It is at the time year again where companies start giving out notebooks and calendars for the new year. This notebook is from IG. IG Markets that is. Well, they don't give free notebooks to their customers though i am one. Just so happen, my partner works in there and he doesn't want his notebook.

I will put it to good use and start next year well with resolutions i will keep!

even though I've been in my current new job for only 2 months and haven't yet worked on any promotions, but I heard that promotions with containers as freebies usually have very effective results! and I wonder why..

well containers are not only used to store food or to pack lunch boxes, it has so many other functions. can be used to store jewelleries, stationeries, cultery etc. so many uses no wonder it's so well received!

I love Monopoly! A big monopoly game fan so when McDonald came up with the monopoly game card thing, i naturally was attracted and started eating alot of macs which i usually hate to. The rule of the game is simply, just collect one full collection and you can stand a chance to win whatever prize there are. Just like the real game of monopoly, which i can be pretty good with.

But no, i am not lucky to win anything. haha!
