with all the hype about tampines 1, of course i wanted to have a look at it before flying off to shanghai for a good 3 months. so yup headed with my sister down to tampines for some sisterly bonding time.
despite the crowd, i had fun exploring tampines 1! was pretty impressed with the wide variety of retail outlets they have!! from fashion to food to electronics. everything mans! gosh. am definitely gonna come back again! hopefully the crowd will die alittle by then!
okok back to the main topic of my post review on Ramen Ten. Well, all the F&B outlets in tampines 1 had long queues, so we headed to Century Square and had dinner at Ramen Ten.
Ramen Ten at century square is combined with ShinTokyo, a sushi-on-the-belt restaurant. They are currently having a promotion -- 99cents for their white plates.
Dinner wasnt very impressive. I ordered a tomyum chicken cutlet dry ramen while my sister ordered the Super Spicy Miso Ramen. As chilli-lovers, the spiciness from both the ramen was shiok! Other than the spiciness, the ramen wasn't fantastic.
In addition, we ordered a plate of salmon sushi and a plate of jellyfish sushi. Even though 99cents for a plate of sushi was really cheap, 2 plates were enough for us. the sushi was horrible! not only was it puny, it wasnt fresh! and the rice tasted gross. so yah the 99cents promotion is definitely not worth it!!
and service was pretty bad. perhaps cos it was a friday evening. it was crowded and they seem shorthanded. we had to try very hard everytime we wanted to get the attention of the service staff. on top of that, they do not serve ice water! you have to pay for a bottle of mineral water =/ oh wells.
i had a good experience at the far east branch. but this century square branch is pretty bad. doubt i'll be coming back again.
